Michiel Leijnse

Michiel Leijnse is Global Brand Development Director of Lipton.

 

Michiel joined Lipton in 2006 to bring sustainable thinking to the brand strategy, which was delivered through the Rainforest Alliance partnership. 

 

He is currently leading Unilever’s partnership with the Rainforest Alliance, which includes: overseeing negotiations, marketing implementation, and the general roll out of the partnership in markets and through the supply chain.  A key milestone was the consumer launch in January 2008, which saw Rainforest Alliance Certified Lipton Yellow Label and PG Tips tea available in shops across Europe.

 

Michiel has worked for Unilever since 1995.  Prior to joining Lipton

he was the International Marketing Manager for Ben & Jerry’s, based in Vermont USA.  He looked after the development of the brand in Europe and Asia, and launched the world’s first Fairtrade certified ice cream.
