Marc Pfitzer is Managing Director of FSG Social Impact Advisors
Since 2002 and opening FSG’s office in Geneva, Marc Pfitzer has managed over 40 engagements for the firm in the areas of strategy, program design, operations and evaluation. Building on nearly 20 years of experience as an advisor to senior executives in the private and social sector, Marc Pfitzer has led all of the firm's work in Europe. His work with multinational corporations, foundations, public-private partnerships, governmental agencies and NGOs spans strategic reviews, issue research leading to action or policy recommendations, new program and initiative designs and evaluations.
Much of Marc Pfitzers recent work has focused on the linkages between competitiveness and corporate social engagement, in collaboration with over a dozen multinationals. Marc leads FSG’s CSR practice area and participated in the developments of FSG’s concepts on “Creating Shared Value” and “Corporate Authentic Engagement”.
Marc Pfitzers work focusing on agri-food value chains has included leading field research in smallholder communities in Africa to design and implement initiatives around key crops for multinationals, as well as strategic reviews for agriculture-focused foundations. He has authored papers on the role of agri-food value chains in economic development, CSR practices in the agri-food sector, and the state of corporate social investment among agricultural technology companies.
Prior to joining FSG, Marc Pfitzer served as Principal at the Boston Consulting Group based in Zürich. Prior to BCG and during his studies, he worked with the World Economic Forum. He holds an M.B.A. from the European Institute of Administration (INSEAD-Fontainebleau) and an honors B.A. from Harvard in Government and History. He speaks English, French and German.
